SCAPE Ballots are Live!

The final phase of the SCAPE project is here! We are now collecting votes on ideas submitted by community members over the past six months. To facilitate voting, we have grouped the more than 100 ideas we received into nine options, or focal areas. The descriptions of each option include the specific ideas suggested by community members during our listening campaign. These ideas were submitted by folks with different backgrounds and perspectives, and show a range of visions for our community’s future. When you vote, you can choose your top three favorite focal areas.

Ballots have been mailed to Claverack and Philmont residents. There are three ways to vote:

  • Return the paper ballot in the mail

  • Vote online at projectscape.org (a Spanish language ballot is also available)

  • Drop your ballot off at the Claverack or Philmont Library or Town or Village hall

Vote by May 15th. You may choose to enter a drawing to win a gift certificate to a local business when you vote! You can also choose to stay informed about future volunteering opportunities related to your favorite projects. Ages 13 and up are eligible to vote.

A few notes: this process is not a referendum, but a grassroots prioritization effort. Ideas listed are potential projects or policy changes that volunteers can work toward implementing or advocating for. SCAPE coincides with, but is separate from, the Town’s comprehensive plan. It will provide additional, complementary data and an opportunity to bridge projects between the Town and Village. Please participate in both processes if you are eligible!

Stay tuned for details on our final celebration on Saturday, June 6th.
